The Indian Way!

Hello everyone,

Yay!! It’s Durga Puja time!!! Being a Bengali, Durga Puja always holds a special place in my heart. Durga Puja referred as Durgotsav, worshipping the victory of goddess Durga over evil. The celebrations continue for 5 days, from endless pandal hopping sessions to having different types of sweets and wearing sarees and everything ethnic, this time of the year is every Bengalis favourite.

I eagerly wait for this festival every year. Though this year I am not in India to be precise Kolkata (Kolkata during durga puja is the biggest fashion parade in the world ), but that did not stop me from being excited and getting all decked up for the occasion.

I love wearing traditional outfits in the festive season. From draping beautiful sarees to anarkalis, I love them all. So I am sharing few of my looks which I have planned for this occasion; hope you all like it

Look 1: The turquoise tassar silk saree is one of my favourite. I tried wearing it in bengali style with some heavy jewellery. Oh and a trinket addition just adds up to the look. 🙂

Look 2: Georgette saree in gujrati style. I can’t get enough of this Statement neck piece though. Simply love love love it!! 1-21-11-4

Look 3: The mandatory silk saree. This pink and golden saree is perfect for ashtami mornings. 12look-33

Though sarees are my favourite, but fusion wear is something which one may wear on their pandal hopping sessions. The flared jumpsuit from my earlier post I teamed it with an ethnic shrug and added some bling to it.

Whether vibrant coloured kurtis or rich embroidered anarkalis, they never go out of style. These rule over every Puja. Whether morning pandal adda sessions or evening pujo parikrama, one can flaunt it everywhere.

Adding such vibrant colours just brings in more to the festive mood!!
